Eldon Avenue, Borehamwood – New Build Project

The project involved the demolition of two blocks of unused lock-up garages and the remediation of the site prior to commencement.  Specialist foundations had to be constructed due to the trees and the general nature of the ground conditions.

The site is very restrictive and parking is at a premium, however, we still managed to find room to accommodate nine car parking spaces, cycle parking, car charging and an enclosed bin area!

All of the apartments are equipped with balconies and are complemented with top-quality finishes throughout the development.  The external facades feature a combination of facing brickwork, render, cladding panels and tall modern windows, which flood the apartment with natural light.

This £2.6 million design and build project, which has produced 11 high-quality apartments, is a testament to the quality that Parrott Construction is renowned for.

Our Chartered status highlights our ongoing commitment to delivering the highest standards to both our clients and the industry.

New BPHA Partnership

We’re thrilled to announce that Parrott Construction has partnered with our valued client, bpha, to transform two underutilized garage sites in Bedford into six new homes for social rent.

Each development has been thoughtfully designed to complement and enhance the surrounding neighborhood, with the first handovers of these much-needed homes scheduled for spring 2025.

Handover – Cannock Road, Corby

Conversion of the former gym in Corby

We were pleased to have been able to step in to take over the works after the previous contractor ceased trading, with the building partly demolished.

We have converted the building, which was previously Corby Town FC Supporters Club and latterly a gym, into five much-needed single-storey adapted homes, including two that are fully wheelchair accessible.

All of the homes are now very energy efficient and have private parking and car charging facilities.
To the rear of the homes, each one has an outdoor space with a patio and grassed area. The elevations have been significantly improved with the introduction of render and cladding. The whole project from commencement to completion took 40 weeks.

Our project team consisted of a combination of our own directly employed skilled tradesmen, together with our approved and trusted subcontractors, and the final project is a credit to them all.

Handover – Clarendon Gardens

Parrott Construction has successfully completed a project that transformed a neglected site into a vibrant residential community in Borehamwood. On the grounds of a former day care centre, what was once a contaminated and derelict space now stands as a testament to innovative urban development—15 high-quality, affordable flats tailored for families. Featuring modern amenities, including balconies and private gardens, these new homes offer both comfort and practicality.

Clarendon Gardens provides 15 high-quality, new apartments in two separate blocks of two and three storeys. All associated external works were completed by the Company, including drainage and an improved, well-lit pedestrian path through the site. The scheme has a gross internal area of 13,727 sq ft.

Completed within 14 months and handed over to Hertsmere Developments in March 2024, this £3.3 million project is a shining example of what thoughtful, efficient construction can achieve.

Handover – Cranfield Medical Centre

Following an eleven-month build period, Parrott Construction has successfully completed a bespoke, purpose-built doctor surgery in Cranfield.

The Design and Build project was built for our valued client Bloor Homes Limited as part of their S106 obligation on the adjacent housing site.

The works comprised the detailed development of the design to exacting standards, and the traditional masonry construction of the single storey medical centre that will house the new medical practice.

The finish of the surgery is light and airy, with modern fixtures and fittings. Throughout the project the Parrott team were in constant contact with the various specialist subcontractors and suppliers, who are all absolutely necessary to complete such a service led building.

The surgery has an extensive car park, which will be a valuable addition to the facilities available at the new development.

Throughout the construction period Parrott maintained excellent relations, not only with Bloor Homes, but also the end user’s consultants.  We maintained constant engagement to ensure all expectations were met.

The project met and surpassed all of its targets in terms of time, cost, quality and BREEAM rating.

Parrott Construction is keen to be involved in similar schemes, and we would welcome enquiries for medical, sporting, social or educational new build or refurbishment requirements.

Handover – Kitchener Day Centre

Another successful handover has been completed!

On Friday 7th June Parrott Construction was delighted to hand over the fully refurbished Kitchener Day Centre in Olney, to our client Milton Keynes City Council.

The works comprised refurbishment and remodelling, with modifications internally to the main building. These included demolitions and alterations, kitchen and laundry works, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical installations, plaster repairs, decoration, ceilings and floor finishes.

The refurbishment was carried out over an intensive five-week period. The work was carried out predominantly by our directly employed workforce, with specialist trades supplied by our expert subcontractors.

The project was handed over on programme and on budget, which was of great importance to our client.
